Due to hurricane Maria, the water level of Inabon River (PR-52 Municipality of Juana Diaz) increased causing scouring in one of the bridge abutment. An emergency repairs were necessary to correct the affected abutment and therefore the stability of the bridge.

The emergency repair of the bridge in the Expressway PR-52 includes: the construction of a crossover (detour) to avoid traffic over this section of bridge, a temporary gabion wall to avoid more scouring, the construction of a gravity wall to protect the abutment and the final protection with stone revetment type IV.

• Construction of a crossover in two weeks after hurricane.
• Construction of gravity wall with 700 cubic meters of concrete.
• Fill de abutment with 1,500 cubic meters of Lean concrete.
• Protect de new gravity wall with 4,000 cubic meters of stone.
